I received my bachelors degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in counseling. It is through my minor in counseling that I found my passion.
I hold a masters degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health and have worked in various organizations within the community. I have volunteered and worked as a survivor advocate for a rape crisis center. I also have experience working with formerly incarcerated women and their children, providing support groups and therapy.
During my time at SFSU I provided general therapy, as well as substance abuse education for students who were mandated to receive counseling. Currently, I work with monolingual Spanish speaking survivors of domestic violence where I provide culturally sensitive services through case management.
I am the daughter of an immigrant woman who fled her country in order to provide a brighter future for her children. Her dedication and strength shape my aspirations of who I can become. I believe that in the strength of the people I work with as well. It is an honor to be able to connect with folks with such amazing stories and truly see the growth and power their stories hold. It is not always an easy road, but with support and dedication I hope to help others achieve their full potential along their healing journey.
It is my hope that we can explore your past, and we can help increase mindfulness and awareness in the present, and develop coping skills so that you can achieve your goals. Therapy can help you with understanding yourself, increasing self-acceptance and self-compassion. It can help you on a journey to feel more joyful and to live a more fulfilling life. I hope that we can work together in this journey as I help you take the lead by providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you are able to explore and grow.
