You're probably trying to make sense of things.
That's what we naturally do.
Maybe you're feeling "stuck in" or "stuck with" something that has happened to you.
Perhaps you're struggling to manage some hard feelings like depression or anxiety.
Regardless of what brought you here, you are sensing that things could be better - and that it all means something.
So, you're ready.
You're ready to feel better. Ready to feel more joy, connection, and purpose.
Ready to leave the past where it belongs.
You're ready - you're just wondering where to start.
That's where I can help.
Therapy can help you make sense of things.
With me, you will find highly skilled, non-judgmental support.
You'll learn some practical tools that can help right away.
You might even come to embrace some buzz-words like "mindfulness", "radical acceptance", and "somatic awareness".
Sometimes, it will be fun.
You may be surprised by the lightness and humor you will find in the room.
We'll likely get creative with your journey, employing tools like art, sand tray, and writing.
If you happen to be feeling "stuck" with something that has happened to you, we might do something called EMDR.

We won't ignore the bigger picture.
There are some really tough things happening in the world that are likely affecting your life in ways you might not fully realize. The backdrop of these injustices and acts of aggression, large and small, is powerful. It should not be ignored.
Experience matters.
I have been practicing as a licensed therapist since 2002. For nearly three decades, I have worked on the front lines with survivors of domestic violence and other traumatic events. I currently have the honor of supporting staff of three domestic violence agencies and two Navigation Centers for homeless people here in San Francisco. With a love for teaching, I regularly facilitate trainings, and I teach a course in Intimate Partner Violence at Golden Gate University.
I love what I do.
I love it so much that I had to share it. My dream was to create a safe, socially conscious, healing space, so in 2008, I founded Solid Ground Psychotherapy. I think you'll love it too.
Contact me when you'd like to know more. I look forward to hearing from you!
